NZSSD Annual Scientific Meeting
in conjunction with
Diabetes Nurses & Allied Health Professionals Study Days
May 1 - 4, 2012. The Rendezvous Hotel, Auckland, New Zealand.
The NZSSD Executive, DNSS Committee and the Special Interest Groups for Dietitians, Podiatrists, Registrars & Primary Care providers are delighted to invite you to join us in Auckland for the 36th NZSSD Annual Scientific Meeting and related meetings in early May. We have assembled a wide-ranging programme covering both scientific and clinical aspects of diabetes - and with a number of highly respected speakers from New Zealand and overseas.
There is a lot happening in NZ diabetes care at present, much of which will be covered at the conference, speciality meetings and in the Annual General Meeting. We have a new MoH Diabetes Services Improvement Group and have seen successful completion of the Nurse Prescribing Project, but the massive challenge of providing and supporting high quality care for our increasing population with diabetes remains daunting.
Please mark the dates in your diary NOW, register as soon as you can – and take the chance for you and/or your colleagues/team to present your work, clinical or scientific, during the meeting. It is also the best opportunity every year to meet up with, and learn from, colleagues and friends from across the country.
We return to Auckland for the first time since 2004. The local attractions need no introduction to most people and we have excellent city centre conference facilities, convenient accommodation on site and within walking distance. There are good flight connections from all centres, well priced if you book well ahead.
We look forward to seeing you there.
Paul Drury, Medical Director, NZSSD
